TXDOT Child Safety Seat Distribution and Education Program

The program distributes and educates on proper child safety seat use. Provides child passenger safety educational classes that are open to the public and distributes child safety seats to eligible families following the Texas Department of State Health Services guidelines.

Families or individuals with children (or women within their third trimester of pregnancy) that are experiencing financial hardship.

No referral needed.

Requirements for eligibility to receive car seat; family must be low-income or must be experiencing financial hardship, primary caregivers must attend a one-hour child passenger safety class, pregnant women must be in their third trimester, and someone in the household must have a vehicle.
Each child in the home that needs a car seat must have separate appointments.
Only one car seat per child will be distributed.
